Perfection Under the Sun

By Ann_blue

The roaring waves crashed against the white shore, creating miniature streams that made their way through the small crevasses in the sand. Wayward trickles surged over Rose's buried toes. The water sent cool chills up her legs and made her chuckle happily. She was comfortable as another sea breeze brushed up her body and over her pink swimsuit form.

"Almost perfect," Rose sighed. Stretching her arms high above her reclined form, the beach chair creaked slightly beneath her. A small half yawn, half groan fell from her lips as she tipped her head back. The motion caused her large sun hat to slide from her head and made her long golden hair tumble free, sprawling over the headrest. She muttered under her breath as she quickly reached for the lost item. Before she could reach it, the weightless hat took flight.

From behind her large, black, sunglasses Rose watched, spell bound, as the hat bounced across the sand and straight into the Doctor’s outstretched hand. She leaned forward, resting her chin in her palm and smiling at the well-toned figure standing almost naked, near the TARDIS, just a few feet away.

Her hungry eyes danced over him. On the way back up Rose’s dark gaze brushed passed the large blue cooler in front of his upper left thigh, over the bulky cloth bag hanging from his right shoulder, and around the elongated navy blue parasol that was tucked under his arm. Finally, she stopped upon his stoic face. She saw him look at the hat, then at her.

"Lose something?" he loudly inquired. He waved the hat at her, and Rose swore she could see a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

She smiled back, tapping the side of her face with her index finger. She refused to answer his silly question. Instead, Rose leaned back into the shadow cast by the parasol. Rose Tyler could resist being rude or making a sarcastic comment, especially when he was dressed like that.

Should have got it sooner for him. Rose suppressed a giggle.

The Doctor’s forehead furrowed as he took one more look at the floppy straw thing. He sniffed at it, a bit insulted at her lack of response, but decided against getting upset. He stuffed the hat under his free arm and then resituated the rest of the stuff in his arms.

It was hard to walk with so much to carry, but what made it harder was the small clingy material that covered most his lower extremities, his bottom particularly. He still could not understand why Rose had got him a black Speedo...

Turning her head slightly back toward the Doctor, Rose watched him as he closed the distance between them. Only occasionally did she hear him cursing at the burning sand beneath his feet. Must buy him some sandals to go with that… lovely piece of material. Something black, perhaps, Rose thought wickedly as she licked her lips.

Rose smirked as the Doctor's shadow finally fell upon her. Her gaze moved up to be greeted by his clear blue eyes.

He smiled at her as he lowered the bag and the cooler next to her. The Doctor tossed the hat and parasol on top of the bag. "So,” he asked, clapping his hands together. “Are we enjoying ourselves, Miss Tyler?"

"Hello, Doctor," she softly piped up before a tiny pout appeared on her lips. "I'm a bit thirsty. But, over all,…not bad.”

"Not bad?!" he exclaimed with an upset look. He shook his head as he opened up the cooler. "Well we must do something about that." Quickly as he could, the Doctor removed a drink held in a fuzzy coconut shell. From its mouth-sized opening protruded a pink umbrella and a long, spiral green straw.

"I put it together myself," he told Rose, kneeling beside her. He carefully handed over the drink. "Just for you…my Rose." She gladly took it and sipped the contents.

Rose’s eyes slid shut as an expression of pure ecstasy washed over her face. Chills of joy rushed through her body as a satisfied whimper buzzed at her lips.

The drink was the best thing she had ever tasted in her life. Sweet like fresh strawberries with a zesty tartness of lime mixed with the smooth creamy taste of mango, papaya and of course coconut, but there was something else, she was sure she had never tasted before. Rose moaned happily as her eyes partially opened.

The Doctor was smirking at her as he sat back and watched her reaction. "I take it, it meets your needs?"

Rose nodded, "What is it?"

The Doctor coughed nonchantly. "Well, the original drink has a lot of names… Endless Sun, Tropical Excellence, etc…" he replied, leaning back with a smug look on his face. "But I make it different… better then the rest. The fruit base is what most people use, but I add a few secret ingredients…a Time Lord secret." He winked at her and Rose smiled back continuing to sip the heavenly drink. The Doctor's face then became serious. "Rose," he called her attention back to him.

The straw made a popping noise as she removed her lips and looked up at him. "Yes, Doctor?"

"So are you enjoying your vacation now?" he asked, looking at her expectantly.

She sat up a bit more and placed the drink beside her chair. “Wwellll…,” she started to say. Rose clasped her hands together and let her chin rest on the tips of her index fingers. “I’d have… to say…” She pretended to think, before her small smile returned. "Yes, better, " she smiled at him. “Almost perfect.”

This got her one of his deep frowns. "Almost?!" he huffed with a sound of disbelief in his voice. "Almost perfect?! Oh, no, no. We can't have that now. Let's see what we can do to make it better than perfect, and beyond."

The Doctor went to the cloth bag and immediately started to dig through it, mumbling to himself. Rose silently chuckled as she pushed herself up on to her elbows to watch him. She couldn't clearly understand what he was saying, but she got the jest of it.

Rose had challenged him by saying that she was not completely happy. It was his intent to bring her here to please her and give her a trip without having to run for her life. He had promised her a time of perfect relaxation and enjoyment. And he was going to find a way to give it to her, even if it killed him. At least that's what she thought she heard him say as he tossed out another item.

Ah, my Doctor. Always making a mess wherever you go. Rose smiled as she took the moment of distraction to admire the Time Lord before her. As before she appreciated the lean muscular tone of his body. From his the well-worked, firm muscles on his legs and arms to the rock hard abs and pectoral muscles. But now that he was within arm length she took in her favorite part of the Doctor, his face.

Blue eyes deep enough to fall into...a strong nose with so many uses...nice prominent and tempting ears....reminds me of a sexy Greek god. A flirtous smile flickered across Rose’s lips as she sighed heavily. It more than makes up for any mess you might get us into.

Just then the Doctor cried out, "Ah ha! I got it!" He shot her a devious grin. "I know what would make it perfect." He produced a medium sized, elongated white bottle with a squirt top from the bag.

She slowly sat completely up and her fliratious smile returning. "Are you offering me a massage, Doctor?" purred Rose.

"Wouldn't want you to burn?" the Doctor replied, his voice dropping slightly. Rose looked thoughtful at the Doctor then flashed him a sexy grin.

"Only if you start on my back," she told him, turning over.

"Anything for you, my Rose," the Doctor answered.

Rose lay down on her stomach before realizing she'd forgotten to lower her swimsuit straps. "Oh, rats," she griped and reached for the left one. Before she could touch it, the Doctor's large hand caught her wrist.

She jumped slightly but relaxed as he started to stroke her palm in circular motion. Then she felt the tip of his large nose gently brush her ear. He whispered in a low voice, "Allow me." His words tickled her ear, forcing her to bite her lip to stop from whimpering.

With a gentle caress his hand traveled from hers, up the length of her arm and left a trail of goose bumps in the wake of his touch. Rose shivered as his fingers skimmed across her shoulder to the strap. She felt him gently glide the first one down her shoulder. He took great care, as if he thought she might already have been sun burned. Patiently she waited for the sensation of his hands covered in lotion, but what she got instead was the soft, moist feel of his lips.

Rose moaned loudly. "Doctor…" she gasped.

He chuckled against her shoulder before making a path of kisses back up toward her ear. "Do you like that, my Rose?" he asked, nuzzling the curve of her neck. "Would you like me to continue or should I return to the massage?"

Rose's lips parted to speak, to say “This is perfect” but nothing came out.

"Oh, Rose…Rose…"

oOo

"Rose!" shouted the Doctor from the other side of the console.

Rose shot up from her reclined position, surprised, on the jump seat. "What!?!" she cried back, looking about the dimly lit room. Then she met the Doctor's icy gaze, stern and upset.

"Stupid apes!" he grumbled. “All of you are the same. You just lie about and sleep all the time. There are things to be done, things to be seen. No time to just lie around." His glare slowly faded as he shook his head and returned his sight to the monitor on the TARDIS console.

Rose looked side to side and realized, It was all a dream. She groan unhappily, letting her eyes slam shut. Her shoulders slumped as she smelled the aroma of the hot, spiced tea in her hand. This is not what I wanted.

Her eyes opened and swept over her form, now suited in a thick, purple winter coat with matching purple mittens and earmuffs. This is not what I wanted at all.

"We'll be there soon, if you care to know," retorted the Doctor, not sparing her a glance.

Right, not a sunny beach… instead a frigid barren world abandon centuries ago because it was sooo inhospitable. Rose bellyached as she let her feet hit the metal grating below her.

The Doctor shot a severe look at her as she whined. "What?" he snapped at her. "You said you wanted to go…after I told you about the perfect beach."

Rose sighed, placing the tea on the chair. Then she slowly made her way around the console toward the Doctor. "I know," she replied with a miserable frown on her face.

The Doctor looked at her with a raised eyebrow as if to say "So?"

"I just, I guess I was hoping it would be a warmer beach," Rose told him with large brown eyes.

The Doctor blinked and then sneered, "Something tropical, I suppose."

"Kinda, yeah," she replied, looking at the screen with the flashing Time Lord symbols.

“Typical!” he exclaimed, rolling his eyes. The Doctor chortled, “Of all the places I could take you, you want to go to a boring everyday beach. You could go see that any place on Earth…and most planets.” His snarl quickly changed to a bright smile as moved toward some more controls. With the turn of a knob, he continued, "This beach, on this planet, is different. In a good way! Like I said… you'll love it!

"Yes, you did say that,” she agreed with a reluctant nod. “Woman Wept,” she repeated the name he had told before, then she scrunched nose as if she smelled something horrible. “Odd name for a planet.”

“Yeah,” smiled the Doctor as he pushed a few more buttons on the console in front of him. Then he flashed a manic grin at her. “Isn’t it fantastic!?”

Rose shrugged. “I guess, but you still haven't said why it’s different. Why we should see it," she told him, looking pointedly at him.

"That's the surprise," the Doctor beamed at her. As if on cue, the TARDIS gave a great groan and then the whole ship shook violently throwing both of them to the ground.

She could hear the Doctor laughing loudly.

She moaned. "Ouch!"

"We're here!" cheered the Doctor from the floor. Immediately, he popped up, looked at her to make sure she was ok and then moved to the controls. After the briefest of glances at the monitor, the Doctor declared, "Yep, we're here!"

Rose slowly pulled herself up, rubbing her throbbing leg. "Still say you need to work on those landings, Doctor."

The Doctor ignored her comment as he rushed toward the door and beckoned her. "Come on. Don't take all day." Rose sighed and followed him. He placed his hands on the door, ready to open them.

"Ok, ok, but promise me something, Doctor," she told him as she approached. "Next time let's go to one of those boring beaches, just for me. Please?"

The Doctor stopped and turned back to her with an unsure look. "Really?" he stated, sounding disappointed. Both eyebrows rose, waiting for her to say “no”. When she did not, his gaze dropped a bit. "Well I suppose, if you want… I guess… we'll see."

Rose smiled at him as she raised the hood of her coat. Well a promise is better than nothing.

The Doctor shook his head. "But I warn you. It's going to be boring after this place," he said, opening the doors.

As the Doctor stepped out, Rose giggled to herself as a particular part of the dream returned to her thoughts. The Doctor spun around in response just as a couple of white fluffy snowflakes fluttered down upon his short cropped, dark brown hair.

"What?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Actually, Doctor… I think it will be perfect…" she said as the tip of her pink tongue peeked out between her teeth. "…if you wore a Speedo."

The look on the Doctor’s face was priceless. Rose knew, no matter what happened next, she would never forget it. It was perfect.
